Tonight, The Brett Epstein Experience with Doug Widick takes over the Tank! Just $5 at the door to laugh yer bum off!
Brett, do you like our fan art?
Borbay’s hour-long painting condensed to a less than a minute time-lapse at ARTPROV last weekend.Ben Rauch hidden behind the canvas on the piano, Rory Scholl hosted and fast-forwarding improv by The Creative Outlets.

Thanks to Ari Lankin for dedicating his Artprov piece to the The Tank’s 10th Anniversary! Last week’s Artprov was a blast! Stay tuned for a January 2013 show announcement and special guest.
Want to see the ARTPROV cast of comics create improvised scenes and musicals based on the gallery of Ari Lankin? At the same time, Lankin will create a new painting, sculpture, or piece based on the scenes based on their work.
ARTPROV is a unique hilarious and entertaining show that brings together different artistic mediums to inspire each other and create new works of art together. An artistic circle of life.
About The Tank’s 10th Anniversary Season:
The Tank’s 10th Anniversary is not only cause for celebration but also an exploration of the values that will continue to propel us forward for another 10 years. At select anniversary events and donation drives through May 2013, The Tank will toast to its services of support, empowerment, opportunity and access for the New York City arts community.
Accessibility isn’t a privilege, it’s a starting point. For early career artists, it’s a curated, guided experience: a nurturing place to get your feet wet and find your audience. For the more experienced crafters, it’s a financially risk-free place to play, in a theater with a full light/sound/projection package. For audiences, it’s an economic alternative to the bright light ‘premium-seat’ attractions one block away. And with year-round, open submissions and no application or acceptance fees, this access is non-exclusive. The Tank has been open for business for 10 years and a tax deductible donation today will make it possible to remain an accessible resource for ten more.
Tickets ranging from $7-$15 are on sale now. Pre-show reception with food by Qdoba at 7 pm, show starts at 8 pm. Join us on December 15, 2012 to witness these amazing pieces of artwork and cast members live!
Captain Scorpio aka Sean Miner created this live on our stage during the last ARTPROV! We have to say, it’s pretty impressive that all of our guest artists can keep painting while people are performing improv about them…NOT EASY!
Mark your calendars for 12/15 because it’s our Tank 10th Anniversary party and holiday ARTPROV with Ari Lankin.
The next installation of ARTPROV is back with a new guest artist, Sean Miner on Friday, November 9!
Growing up in NYC, Sean Miner was always fascinated with the dark alleyways that he was certain must exist in the backstreets of fairy tales, hinted at in the writing and illustrations of Maurice Sendak and Shel Silverstein.
ARTPROV is a unique hilarious and entertaining show that brings together different artistic mediums to inspire each other and create new works of art together.
